SHE might have been getting older, but this queen of mature skin's makeup routine was making her look younger than ever before.

And her tips were already getting some eye-popping results - literally.

"This year I turned 51 and I really started tweaking my makeup to suit my more maturing features," said Kat James (@shinebykatjames).

She especially wanted to stay focused on this one part of the face: her eyes.

They are after all, the windows to the soul - and a more youthful appearance.

"I am doing my eye makeup completely different to make everything look more open," she explained.

"I find this helps to prevent my shadow from creasing," wrote one satisfied wearer.

"When I use it as a base, it extends the wear of my eyeshadow. I have oily skin, and they work well for me.

"I love that the color is buildable so it can be a light wash or bold and intense. You need at least one of these but I promise you'll be back for more!" wrote another enthused buyer.

Kat explained how concealer was also a viable alternative.

"So you are tapping this on your lid all the way from the lashes to the brow. That alone really opened up the lid," explained Kat.

She continued on with her makeover by mixing two shades in her eyeshadow palette - one warm and one cool color.

And Kat wasn't the only one obsessed with the product.

She started in on her crease and explained what has made the most difference: "I add a lot of color on this inner corner here."

Kat also explained how adding shadow as the eyelid starts to droop helps to emphasize an extra sharp line.

Keeping up with Kat also involved using circular motions to create a pocket and then moving across the rest of her crease, ending by the eyebrow.

She gave a close up glimpse to see the pretty progress she was making.

Going in with a yogurt shade, she tapped the shadow on the inner corner to add some light and make everything pop.

Kat took the leftovers on her brush and added the light color to underneath her brow.

She also advised blending in any rough edges.

And the mature skin advisor wasn't done just yet as she added a darker shade onto an angled brush to use as a liner.

"I'm just going to do one little stamp here, like a wing, and then drag that across my crepey lid."

Then, with the angled brush pointing towards her nose, she stamped the inner part of her eyelid.

The beauty expert blended the rest of her crease color underneath her eye before applying some mascara in a pulling out motion.

Kat demonstrated how she moved the wand towards her eyebrow to achieve the ultimate cat eye look.

Exclaimed an elated Kat: "That's become my go-to look for a really open bright youthful eye. It just works."

And she wasn't the only one who noticed how her tricks were turning back the clock.

In fact, her look was so flawless it almost looked fake.

"It really does make a difference! Looks like doll eyes, very pretty," said this impressed follower.

"Right?" she agreed.

Another viewer was hoping to get over her previously failed makeup attempts.

"I’m 49 and never learned how to do eyeshadow. I look like I got beat up anytime I try," she joked.

"Give us a try, and be patient with yourself. You may not get it right the first time like everything it takes a little practice," replied an encouraging Kat.
