Central Dakota Humane Society holds online fundraisers to make up for pandemic losses - KFYR

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - The Central Dakota Humane Society’s annual Santa Paws event still went on this year but with COVID-19 changes.

In light of the pandemic, Santa was not able to make an appearance, but families were still able to pay a fee and take pictures with their pets by appointment only.

All the money goes towards helping the animals at the shelter.

“The funds that we raise for all of our  fundraisers, including Christmas Critter Bidders, our online auction, go to help little guys like this, with their medical expenses and there food and there shelter, and then help us help them get adopted into loving families,” said Central Dakota Humane Society Communications and Development Director Cameo Skager.

Staff said they raised around $2,000.

The Central Dakota Humane Society is also holding a fundraiser called Christmas Critter Bidders, an online silent auction where people can log-on and bid on a variety of things including gift cards and CDHS merchandise.
