He did not pray, He didn’t say, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” In place of words of comfort, we got apocalyptic televangelism.
If you looked closely you would see Trump brought his own personal racist to a protest of racial injustice.
Center stage with Trump, clad in her prominent crucifix necklace, was “beautiful, Christian, conservative” White House spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany.
McEnany, who aims to be Laura Ingraham when she grows up, amplified racist conspiracy theories about President Obama. On Twitter, she wrote: “How I met your brother-Never mind, forgot he’s still in that hut in Kenya. #Obama TV Shows.”
A despicable slur that would have disqualified her from the job if decency applied.
This photo in its nightmarish awkwardness defines for history the hypocrisy, racism and conspicuous consumption that is the essence of the Trump administration.
