Ever wondered exactly which make-up products Emily Ratajkowski uses to get that natural, bronzed look she does so well? Join the club. Well, she has given the people what they want. Ratajkowski shared her “Quarantine and Chill” make-up products on her Instagram Stories on Friday, to create what she describes as the “a day-to-day look” that’s her go-to, “unless I’m feeling really sassy”.

Having previously shared the surprisingly minimal skincare routine she uses, Ratajkowski’s morning make-up is a little more involved. “I’m doing a make-up tutorial, which is very not me,” she said on camera, as she prepared to unveil the secrets she has picked up from professional make-up artists like Hung Vanngo, who she referenced in the Stories.
Her first port of call is a concealer to even out her skin tone, which is her only form of base make-up and acts as a foundation. And Ratajkowski’s trick to achieving a flawless finish is to use her hands: “They’re clean! The reason I like [using] my fingers – and a lot of professional make-up artists do this too – is the texture of the pads of your fingers mimics the texture of your skin.” Cue a product that melts into skin seamlessly. Next up, it’s a case of warming up her face using bronzer: “I don’t have a lot of natural redness in my face… I think [it] is really pretty when girls have rosy cheeks,” she said, using a brush to dust Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow over her forehead and along her cheekbones, nose and jaw. She also uses the same product around her eyes, applying into her eyelid crease and underneath the lower lash line to “make eyes look bigger” – a trick Vanngo taught her.
Her unruly (“this eyebrow never wants to stay up”) brows enjoy the gap-filling qualities of Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and the Clear Brow Gel to match, while her upper eyelashes are treated to a slick of Charlotte Tilbury’s Legendary Lashes, and the lower ones are left bare.
“Another controversial trick that I’ve done since I was 18 is use lipstick as blush,” she confessed. “I like the texture of it a lot more than a powder.” Applying over the nose and cheeks, where the sun would hit naturally, she applied a rust-toned lipstick directly to her face, using her fingertips to blend in, leaving her with that trademark Ratajkowski glow.
And to finish her laidback look? A lipliner: Pat McGrath Labs’s PermaGel Ultra Lip Pencil in Done Undone, which she uses to make her “neutral-coloured” lips “pop”. Not content with revealing just those behind-the-scenes beauty hacks, she left us with one last top tip: pat Aquaphore’s Healing Ointment over the top of lips for a little extra shine.
