Fourth of July fireworks parades festivals make up a full 4 days of events - TribLIVE

From 5K runs to firework shows, there’s a variety of ways to celebrate Independence Day with friends and family this year. Here’s a list of firework displays, parades and festivals:

ALLEGHENY COUNTY

Brentwood

This year’s parade steps off Tuesday at 10 a.m. on Brownsville Road.

Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be set off from the top field at Brentwood Park. There are many places throughout the borough where they can be enjoyed.

Carnegie

Carnegie will celebrate in style Saturday at Carnegie Park from noon till dusk, with fireworks at sundown.

Expect food, games, music and a bouncy house.

A dedication at 2 p.m. will celebrate a memorandum of understanding between the borough and the Kelty Community Council in Scotland as part of the Partner Sister City program.

Crafton

Get your Fourth of July off to a running start as Crafton rings in Independence Day Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Crafton Park for the annual Thomas J. Witt Memorial Firecracker Fun Run.

The borough will celebrate the Fourth of July from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. with live music from Smoke & Mirrors and The Other Bugs, as well as a balloon artist, inflatable obstacle course, mini-golf and food vendors.

Fireworks begin at Crafton Park at 9:30 p.m.

Findlay

Findlay’s “Fireworks Celebration” begins 5 p.m. Monday at the Recreation & Sports Complex off Route 30. Celebrate Independence Day and the township’s 200th anniversary with an evening of music, food, balloon and airbrush tattoo artists and fireworks, which will begin at 9:45 p.m.

According to the Findlay Township calendar, there will be no parking on Route 30, but shuttles will run from the activity center, Valley Presbyterian Church and municipal building.

Leetsdale

Leetsdale will celebrate with a parade at 2 p.m., park activities at Henle Park from 3-7 p.m., live music from 4-8 p.m. and fireworks at dusk on Tuesday.

You can expect to find bounce houses, jugglers, balloon animals and a splash pad at the park.

Monroeville

The Fourth of July parade begins 9 a.m. Tuesday and will travel along Route 22.

Fireworks will launch at the Monroeville Mall Annex at dusk.

Moon

Rock the night away at Moon Park with family games Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and live music until 10 p.m. Pony rides, a dunk tank, petting zoo, face painting and other activities are planned.

Live music includesDoo Wop All Stars from 4:30-5:30 p.m., Michael Christopher from 6-7:30 p.m., Military Salute and the National Anthem performed by Sarah Rock at 8 p.m. and Totally ’80s from 8:30-10 p.m.

Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

Mt. Lebanon

Mt. Lebanon’s July 4th and Community Day celebration lasts from noon to 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Head to 900 Cedar Boulevard for live music by Radio Tokyo on the basketball courts at 7:30 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9 p.m.

Rain date for concert and fireworks is Wednesday . Sign up to be notified by LeboALERT here. (select “community events” and “cancellation” categories.)

Pittsburgh

The City of Pittsburgh’s Independence Day celebration takes place at Point State Park from 4-10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Partake in some line dancing from 6-8 p.m. and enjoy live music at one of the three stages at Point State Park.

Snacks, meals and desserts will be available at concession stands.

Attendees will be subject to a security screening, including a bag check, upon entry.

The fireworks will begin at 9:35 p.m. Tune in to 100.1 FM KDKA for a live broadcast of a 25-minute fireworks soundtrack from TJ and the DJ paying tribute to Independence Day.

Robinson

Pyrotecnico Fireworks will light the sky at Burkett Sports and Recreation Complex this Independence Day at dusk.

According to its Facebook page, attendees should arrive early and bring a blanket and chair for an evening under the stars.

Ross

Enjoy an Independence Day parade at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The parade route runs along Perry Highway from St. John’s Church to Perrysville Fire Department.

Head over to 1000 Ross Municipal Drive from at 4 p.m. for live music, food trucks and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Expect some family fun from 5-9 p.m., with balloon artists, a petting zoo, airbrush tattoos, Strolling Magic and face paining.

Live music includesBlind Colors from 5-6 p.m., Stampede from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Wise Guyz from 8-9 p.m.

Scott Township

Head over to Scott Park for fireworks at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Shaler

Shaler’s Community Day at Kiwanis Park on Tuesday begins at 11 a.m. and lasts until dusk.

Dance to a DJ’s tunes at the pool, explore the food vendors and bring the kids along for a fire truck ride from one of the local departments. End the day with a bang at the fireworks show at dusk.

Pets are not permitted in the park during township events.

Tarentum

Summit Hose Co. will sponsor a fireworks display at 10 p.m. Monday at Dreshar Stadium. There will be no activities or refreshments at the stadium.

Upper St. Clair and South Fayette

As part of a yearly partnership, Upper St. Clair and South Fayette will launch a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday from Fairview Park in South Fayette. The display can also be viewed from Boyce Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair, or from various locations throughout the community, according to the South Fayette Township website.

West Mifflin

“Celebrate America!” from Saturday to Tuesday at Kennywood. On Saturday , attend the annual Wiener 100 and find out who is top dog at the Wiener dachshund races. On Sunday , bring the family to the Kids Foam Parties throughout the day at the Garden Stage. On Monday and Tuesday, stay for extended hours at the park and experience Zambelli Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Military members will receive free admission by presenting a valid military ID, and can purchase up to four discounted tickets for $39.99 each.


FAYETTE COUNTY

Connellsville

Connellsville will host a “Red White and Boom” celebration Saturday on Arch Street.

The festivities will include food, music, vendors, fireworks and beer.

Live music includes The Cash Out Band at 3 p.m., Laurie & Shirley featuring John Rickard on Steel Guitar at 5 p.m. and Variety Pack at 7:30 p.m.

The festival opens at 3 p.m. and fireworks will go off at 9:45 p.m.

Wharton

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa will hold a variety of activities and events, from poolside live music to mini-golf tournaments, to some relaxing time by the spa.

Fireworks go off Sunday and Tuesday at 9:45 p.m.

All Fourth of July experiences and activities at Nemacolin are available to overnight guests and members.


SOMERSET COUNTY

Champion

Spend the day in the mountains at Seven Springs and celebrate Independence Day on the Apline Slide, axe throwing and watching Zambelli Fireworks light up the night sky against the backdrop of the Allegheny Mountains.

Fireworks begin Sunday at 9:30 p.m.


WASHINGTON COUNTY

Canonsburg

Canonsburg has a packed day of celebration this Independence Day. Events begin at 7:30 a.m. with the 39th annual Whiskey Rebellion 5k Race & Walkers. Ringing of church bells at 9 a.m. will precede Dominique Theodore singing the National Anthem before the parade begins at 10 a.m. on Pike Street.

From noon until 6 p.m. enjoy free admission to the Canonsburg Town Park pool as well as a free rock-climbing wall, moon bounce and giant slide.

The Canonsburg Memorial Stadium opens at 6 p.m. and fireworks begin at 10 p.m. The rain date is set for Wednesday.

WESTMORELAND COUNTY

The 49th Annual Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival is scheduled for Thursday through Sunday. The festival covers more than eight acres of Twin Lakes Park east of Greensburg and attracts an annual attendance of over 125,000. The festival will offer an artist market, ethnic food vendors, entertainment and children’s activities. More information can be found here.

Festival hours are Thursday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Derry Township

Celebrate the history of tea with a Boston Tea Party in Keystone State Park Tuesday from 1-3 p.m.

Explore the best plants for tea while on a nature walk and sample teas made from wildflowers.

Greensburg

Bring your lawn chair, a blanket and a friend over to St. Clair Park 7 p.m. Sunday for the annual Summer Sparklers free concert with the Westmoreland Symphony.

Expect patriotic favorites, selections from Phantom of the Opera and Harry Potter as well as the traditional finale – the 1812 Overture, all conducted by Daniel Meyer.

This concert is free and open to the public.

Hempfield

Historic Hanna’s Town, a Revolutionary War settlement, will hold a celebration from Tuesday 12:30-4:30 p.m.

Admission is free, and visitors can take self-guided tours around the historic area. There will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 2 p.m.

Latrobe

The annual Independence Day Parade will begin Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. on the corner of Irving Avenue and Ligonier Street.

Immediately following the parade, a Foam Dance Party will be held in the Memorial Stadium parking lot.

There will be vendors, music and children’s activities at the stadium area after the parade until the fireworks display at 9:45 p.m.

Ligonier Township

Idlewild & Soak Zone will “Celebrate America!” Saturday through Tuesday with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. on July 3 and July 4 in partnership with Zambelli Fireworks.

The Michael Christopher Band will perform at the Hillside Theater Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Mt. Pleasant

“Party in the Park” with fireworks will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Mt. Pleasant Gazebo.

Mt. Pleasant Township

Join the 3rd annual Mike Reese Memorial Roast, Run and Family Fun event at Pavilion 1 in Mammoth Park. The run begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday with registration beginning at 9 a.m.

State Rep. Mike Reese died unexpectedly in January 2021, and a foundation was established in his memory to help youth athletics.

New Kensington

Fireworks will launch at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday at AK Valley Park, 600 Freeport Road. There is no charge for access to the front lawn to watch the fireworks, however there is a $5 charge to enter the facility and access food trucks and live music from 3-11 p.m. Children under age seven are free. The charge is used to help cover security costs.
