Kim Kardashian’s fans aren’t afraid to call her out when they see something untoward in her Instagram pictures – and they wasted no time in making their thoughts known when she posted a picture of herself sleeping on the social media platform!
On May 19th, the 42-year-old Skims founder posted some pictures of herself sleeping – or pretending to be asleep – with the caption: “Guys, I’m really tired.” She finished off with a yawning emoji, a sleeping emoji, and a crying laughing emoji.

The first picture is a closeup of her lying on white bedding with her eyes closed, although it looks like she has fresh eyeshadow on, as well as a flawless glowing base. In the second picture, which is a little more zoomed out, she is also lying down with her eyes closed, with her sleek black locks placed strategically over her head so as not to get tangled. She also added a video after the first two pictures, which shows her asleep in a dark room while wearing a white bathrobe, and being woken up by someone who says: “Kim, you’ve got to wake up babe, it’s 2.”
Naturally her fans had a lot of comments, and couldn’t seem to move past the fact that she was sleeping in makeup; and very possibly also used filters so as not to expose her real skin texture in her Instagram post!

"It’s the full beat for me," one fan commented on her post. "Flawless makeup even when asleep lol," added another. "But nobody sleeps like this," wrote another, followed by a confused emoji. "Do you really sleep with all that makeup on with white bedding?" asked another, while another seemingly unimpressed Instagram user said: "Geez you sleep with all that make up on? Yuck."
Over on the US Weekly Instagram account, which re-posted Kim's picture on May 30th, one fan wrote, "Come on full makeup." "Full makeup and filters on while u sleep," added another, followed by three crying laughing emojis, to which one replied, "I was thinking the same thing," preceded by two crying laughing emojis. "With a full face of makeup on," noted another fan, to which another replied, "And hair done and carefully placed to look nice too," followed by the ever-popular crying laughing emoji.
However, back on Kim's original post, many fans referenced something she previously said about being able to sleep in a full face of makeup without ruining it, which naturally her loyal fans remembered and referenced in the comments. "She literally said that she can take naps with make up on without ruining it," one fan remembered, adding, "Why are y'all surprised? This is an absolute flex. A gorgeous sleeping beauty." Another said, "I was gonna say she probably does sleep in it. Gotta sleep when you can lol," while another added, "I think they forgot she said it’s her talent." "When you need a nap before you go out but the face has to stay on fleek," another fan chimed in.
However, a few fans did note that sleeping with makeup on can’t be good for her skin – as someone who has a skin care brand should know – with one fan commenting: "Sleeping with make up on... is skin aging dear."
Kim Confirms She Sleeps With Makeup On
The Skkn by Kim founder confirmed in an interview with Allure that she does indeed sleep with her makeup on. It isn’t a regular thing, of course, but rather something she chooses to do if she knows she has to be up early for an event or photoshoot and doesn’t want to glam in the morning!
"One talent that I have that is probably the worst advice to give you guys, is I can sleep in full makeup," she said in the interview, before showing fans the position she sleeps in (flat on her back, FYI) to ensure she doesn’t ruin her makeup. "Sometimes you’ll see if I have to get up really early in the morning, I’ll do my makeup the night before and have it done, sleep, not move, and wear it the whole next day," she said, adding, "And you would never know. My makeup lasts a really long time on my face, I don’t know why." "Not the healthiest, but it is what it is," she added.
Kim also confessed to sleeping in her makeup during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan, telling the hosts and viewers at home: "I got my makeup done last night [and] slept in it so I would look presentable for you guys."
