Get the latte look... but how? Influencer Rachel Rigler, who coined the term, describes it as make-up with natural sun-kissed tones. "Warm and bronzy and effortless," she says. "There is no blush, no colour, just bronzer." So grown-up bronze, in other words, and experts are hailing it as the prettiest make-up trend of the summer. "There's nothing I don't like about latte make-up," says make-up artist James Boyce. "It's the summer edition of the no make-up make-up look. Think bronzed skin, warm tones and neutral eyes. It works on all ages and skin tones, and in some cases one product - a good bronzer - does the lot." Here's how it's done.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT BRONZER
Shade: Don't go too dark. It's easier to build a deeper shade than to buff away one that's too intense. The key to getting it right is to imagine how your skin goes in the sun. Pale skin with pink undertones suits a rosy-toned bronzer. People who tend to tan, with natural olive undertones, will suit something golden. And darker skin tones need a product richer in pigment, with a redder base.
Formula: There are plenty to choose from, but the main three formulas are powder, liquid and cream. It comes down to personal preference. However, powder is a great all-rounder, while more mature skin suits cream as it doesn't cake. For a whole-face glow, liquid can be applied directly or added to moisturiser.
GET THE LATTE LOOK
"Start with the face. Apply your chosen bronzer high on the cheekbones and further back, sweeping it away from the centre of the face," says James. "If in doubt, think about where the sun would naturally hit the higher points of your face and apply there. Next, use your bronzer across the eyes, dusting a powder over the crease with a brush, or taking your ring finger and rubbing a cream straight over the eyelid."
