Panthers Face Off Against Golden Eagles
Following back-to-back victories, Eastern Illinois women's basketball looks to win their third straight as they go on the road to take on the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in a game that was postponed from January 8 due to COVID protocols.  Tipoff is set for 6 pm.

Last Game
The Panthers cruised to a 68-44 win at home over the Southeast Missouri Redhawks. Lariah Washington scored 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. Kira Arthofer scored 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting, dished out six assists, and recorded three steals. The freshmen played a factor for EIU once again, as Taris Thornton scored eight points and collected six rebounds, while Julia Bengtson scored seven points, dished out three assists, and recorded three steals.

Player to Watch
Senior Guard Jordyn Hughes looks to continue to make an impact as she bursts into the starting lineup for the Panthers.  Hughes offers nagging defense against opposing guards, and a smooth jumpshot that can make defenses pay.  She has scored in double figures in eight out of 17 games this season, including a season-high 17 in the OVC opener at Morehead State.  In the Panthers' last game vs. SEMO, she set a new career high with five assists.

ANALYZING TTU
Tennessee Tech is led by sixth-year head coach Kim Rosamond.  The Golden Eagles have won
three in a row, including a home win over Belmont, who was previously unbeaten in OVC play.  Tennessee Tech now sits at 10-7 overall and 5-2 in OVC play.  The Golden Eagles are led in scoring by Graduate Forward Mackenzie Coleman, who averages 11.8 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game.  She shoots it at a 51% rate, including 35% from three-point range.  She is joined in the frontcourt by Sophomore Forward Anna Walker, who averages 10.7 points per game and a team-high 6 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will mark the 48th all-time meeting between the Panthers and the Golden Eagles.
Tennessee Tech leads the all-time series 30-17 and took both meeting a season ago, beating EIU 72-67 in Charleston on January 2, 2021 and again in Cookeville 62-45 on February 13.

UP NEXT
The Panthers will take on another opponent from the volunteer state as they head to UT Martin.  Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
